VIBRATIONAL SPECTRA OF SYM -- TRIOXA$NE^{*}$
Publisher:
Ohio State UniversityAbstract:
The infrared spectrum of trioxane vapor has been obtained in the region 15 to 38 $\mu$ with the aid of a CsBr prism in a Perkin-Elmer double-pass spectrometer and a 1-m cell. The Raman spectra of a single crystal of trioxane and of the liquid have been photographed with a three-prism glass spectrograph of linear dispersion 15A/mm at 4358A. The data obtained have been compared with previous inferared data for liquid trioxane and Raman data for trioxane in $CCI_{4}$ solution. A complete assignment of fundamental vibrational frequencies will be given. The effect of the crystalline field will be discussed.
