THE VIBRATIONAL SPECTRA OF LIGHT AND HEAVY CYCLOHEXANE
Publisher:
Ohio State UniversityAbstract:
Infrared and Raman spectra have been obtained for both light and heavy cyclohexane. A partial vibrational analysis based on the chair structure ($D_{3d}$ symmetry) will be outlined briefly. The spectra have several puzzling features which will be pointed out. Some higher-temperature studies have been made to see whether the flexible (``boat”) form of the molecule appears, but no evidence for it has been found.
