Publisher:Ohio State University
A new model infrared double beam spectrophotometer has been designed and built. There are a number of changes in the new model which enable high resolution to be obtained in a short time. Additional features give more reproducible results for quantitative analysis. These features include: 1. A variable speed drive varying over a range of 40 to 1 on one control. 2. A mechanically variable slit programmer which enables 1/2 the present slit setting to be obtained with corresponding high resolution, as well as wider slits for low noise operation. 3. A method of reading the response speed of the servomechanism so that it can be made reproducible from run to run. 4. A fixed slit adjustment to enable the slits to be more accurately reproducible than possible for any program mechanism. 5. Rocksalt to calcium fluoride interchange can be accomplished in less than one minute without waiting for temperature compensation. The improved performance with the new features is shown.
