Abstract

High dispersion spectra of the 4050A bands of the $C_3$ molecule have been photographed. An unsuccessful attempt to analyze the bands has been made. Spectra will be shown and the difficulties in the analysis will be discussed. The spectrum of the $Si_{2}$ molecule has recently been photographed for the first time. Two band systems have been found. One band system has been shown to arise from a $^{3}\Sigma_{u}^{-}-^{3}\Sigma_{g}^{-}$ transition while the second, which appears to involve a $3\Pi$ state, has not yet been analyzed. Additional bands of the $^{2}\Delta - ^{2}{\it\Pi}$ system of the SiH molecule have been photographed. From these new bands, the values of $\omega_e$ and $\omega_e \times _e$, which are at present unknown, can be determined.
