This note examines the evolution of the relationship between the Banco Agricola de la Republica Dominicana and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) for 1978-1989. It evaluates the institutional-building impact of IDB technical cooperation as well as the negative impact of massive, non-selective, subsidized credit lines on the bank's financial viability. Recommendations for future donor interventions in Banco Agricola are included.
