Abstract
Christine Ballengee Morris first describes her family background, growing up as an American Indian in Appalachia, and her educational background, which began with a degree at a local community college. She then describes experiences of racism while she lived in North Carolina, and navigating through various gender roles while she was younger, and how these experiences affected her career as a faculty member in Arts Administration, Education and Policy at Ohio State. In addition, she discusses her role as the first Multicultural Center director, her involvement in the Newark Earthworks and other Earthworks around the world, and her association with the Mended Hearts program at Ohio State Medical Center. She also describes general issues of equity and work-life balance.
