Librarians at the Ohio State University Health Sciences Library developed and taught a four-week elective mini-module on database searching to second-year medical students. The behavioral objectives, design, implementation, and formal evaluation of the program are described. The authors point out the need for a systematic means of assisting all future physicians to develop information retrieval and management skills.
