This item is the meeting minutes of the Board of Trustees of The Ohio State University held on September 6, 2002 at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Columbus, Ohio. Mr. Patterson presented the Chairman's Report and President Edward H. Jennings presented the President's Report, focusing on what is being done to strengthen and improve efficiencies in Ohio State's arts and sciences core. Dr. Glen F. Hoffsis presented on the College of Veterinary Medicine. Mr. Eddie Pauline led the discussion on the Importance of Faculty-Student Interaction. The consent agenda included the following: Appointment to the Access Health Columbus Board, University Hospitals Board Appointment, Amendments to the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff of the Ohio State University Hospitals, Amendments to the Bylaws of the Medical Staff of the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute, Establishment of Vice President for Government Relations Position and Amendments to the Bylaws of the Board of Trustees, Appointments to the Engineering Experiment Station Advisory Council, Naming of Conference Room, Revision of the Classified Civil Service Rules of The Ohio State University, Honorary Degree, Personnel Actions, Resolutions in Memoriam, Report of Research Contracts and Grants, and Report on University Development. The appendices included processes, budgets, building plans, and maps that were not already present in the minutes.
