James L. Murphy, "Watermark Proves Existence of Early Ohio Paper Mill," Echoes 17, no. 8 (August 1978): 4.
Abstract:
A watermark discovered in the papers of the Lancaster Lateral Canal Co. documents the existence of the Good Hope paper mill (Joseph A. Greene & Co.), earlier operated by Rudolph and Abraham Pitcher, near the mouth of Clear Creek, Hocking Co., Ohio. The mill appears to have been last operated by Jacob Greene around 1846.
