Rosalia Harasymchuk was born in Tryskyni, a village in Western Ukraine. She was taken to Austria as an 'ostarbeiter' (worker from the east) in 1942. In Austria she worked on a farm in the Klagenfurt area. There she met and married Mykhailo Magora and together they were accepted to the United States. They arrived in the fall in 1951 and made their home in Columbus, in Ohio.
