A sample of freshwater naiads from the Fort Ancient Philo Phase Richards Site, Muskingum Co., Ohio, is analyzed. The fauna is very similar to that described from the nearby Philo II Site (Murphy 1976). Utilized shell is not common at the site, being limited to a few shell "hoes," a Marginella bead necklace accompanying a burial, several fragmentary shell spoons, and a short tubular bead. A small elliptical shell pendant from the Philo II Site is illustrated.en_US
