THE PURE ROTATIONAL SPECTRUM OF $SO_{2}$ IN THE 170-1070 GHz REGION

The pure rotational spectrum of the $SO_{2}$ molecule has been investigated in the 170-1070 GHz region using the RAD spectrometer with a sub-millimeter-wave synthesizer for the lower frequency range in Nizhnii $Novgorod^{1}$ and the terahertz spectrometer in $Cologne^{2}$ for the frequency range higher than 550 GHz. Transitions of various isotopic species and vibrational states up to $1500 cm^{-1}$ have been assigned. These data have been combined with all the available microwave and infrared data in a simultaneous fit to obtain refined molecular constants which have been used to produce a spectral atlas of all transitions of the isotopic species $^{32}S^{16}O_{2}, ^{33}S^{16}O_{2}$ and $^{32}S^{18}O^{16}O$ with peak intensity greater than $10^{-7} cm^{-1}$ in the frequency range 150-1500 Ghz.
