FOURIER TRANSFORM MICROWAVE SPECTROSCOPY OF ARGON-FOUR MEMBERED RING COMPLEXES
Publisher:
Ohio State UniversityAbstract:
FT Microwave spectra of the argon complexes with the four membered ring molecules, trimethylene sulfide, trimethylene oxide and cyclobutanone have been obtained and assigned. The effect of the Vander Waals complexation on the structure and ring-puckering vibration will be presented. The rotation of the monomer's principal moment of inertia tensor by complexation with argon leads to interesting changes in the rotational - inversion spectra in the complex. In the trimethylene sulfide - argon complex, the inversion vibration which occurs at 8 Ghz in the monomer has been seriously perturbed.
