NEW HIGH-FREQUENCY SUBMILLIMETER-WAVE MEASUREMENTS OF THE METHANOL SPECTRUM
Publisher:
Ohio State UniversityAbstract:
Using the Cologne terahertz spectrometer, we have measured new transitions belonging to the high resolution rotational- torsional spectrum of gas-phase methanol at frequencies between 580 GHz and 1.1 THz. The newly measured transitions come from 13 Q-branches in the lowest three torsional states $(v_{t} = 0,1,2)$ as well as the $^{a}R$ branches J = 12-11, 18-17, and 22-21. A combined data set with previous data has been analyzed via an internal axis method (IAM) in which the transitions in the A and E torsional substates are treated independently from each other.
