The electronic emission spectra of CoH and CoF have been investigated in the 750 nm to $3 \mu m$ spectral region using a Fourier transform spectrometer. The bands were excited in a carbon tube furnace at the temperature of $2200-2300^{\circ}C$ in the presence of $H_{2}$ and $CF_{4}$. The observed bands in the $1 \mu m -800$ nm spectral region of CoH have been classified into ${^{3}}\Phi_{3} - {^{3}}\Phi_{3}$ and ${^{3}}\Phi_{4} - {^{3}}\Phi_{4}$ sub-bands of a new electronic transition $[12.0]^{3}\Phi_{1} - X^{3}\Phi_{1}$. The rotational analysis of the 0-0 band of ${^{3}}\Phi - {^{3}}\Phi_{3}$ sub-band and the 0-1 and 0-0 bands of the ${^{3}}\Phi_{4} - {^{3}}\Phi_{4}$ sub-band has been obtained providing spectroscopic constants for the ground and excited states. The analogous transition of the isovalent molecule CoF has also been observed in the same general spectral region. These bands have been classified into ${^{3}}\Phi_{2} - {^{3}}\Phi_{1}, {^{3}}\Phi - {^{3}}\Phi_{3}$ and ${^{3}}\Phi_{4} - {^{3}}\Phi_{4}$ sub-bands of the $[10.3]^{3}\Phi_{1} - {^{3}}\Phi_{1}$ transition. The rotational analysis of three bands of ${^{3}}\Phi_{2} - {^{3}}\Phi_{2}$ sub-band, five bands of ${^{3}}\Phi_{3} - {^{3}}\Phi_{3}$ sub-band and twelve bands of the ${^{3}}\Phi_{4} - {^{3}}\Phi_{4}$ sub-band has been obtained and the effective equilibrium constants for the individual spin components have been determined. The equilibrium vibrational and rotational constants for the lowest energy ground state spin component $X^{3}\Phi_{4}$ are: $\omega_{e} =678.1817(19) cm^{-1}, \omega_{e}x_{e} = 2.73967(84) cm^{-1}, B_{e} = 0.3894797(34) cm^{-1}, \alpha_{e} = 0.0025984(45) cm^{-1}$ and $r_{e} = 1.509376(7) \AA$.en_US
