VIBRATIONAL CIRCULAR DICHROISM OF TRANSITION METAL COMPLEXES OF ACHIRAL AMINO ACIDS AND ETHYLENEDIAMINE
Publisher:
Ohio State UniversityAbstract:
We have synthesized several dissymmetric transition metal complexes of Co(III) and Cr(III) using the achiral molecules, glycine, $\beta$-alanine and ethylenediamine, as bidentate ligands. Spectra have been recorded in the N-H and C-H stretching regions. In all cases the N-H signals are more intense than the C-H. We will compare their spectra with those of similar complexes in which the metal ion is coordinated to the chiral amino acid, L-alanine.
