Abstract
A number of cross-reactions were observed between the antigens of flocforming pseudomonads. Immunodiffusion tests of trichloroacetic acid extracts showed that antigens are shared by some Zoogloea spp. and Pseudomonas spp., yet other Zoogloea and Pseudomonas spp. lack these antigens. One of the antigens was also found in Gluconobacler. This demonstration of a close antigenic relationship between some, but not all, members of the 3 genera must be weighed against the limited number of characteristics which establish the generic distinction.
