ROTATIONAL SPECTRA OF THE MIXED RARE GAS VAN DER WAALS DIMER NE-XE, AR-XE, KR-XE, NE-KR AND AR-KR.

Ohio State UniversityAbstract:
Pure rotational spectra of five mixed rare gas dimers in their ground vibrational states have been measured using a molecular beam cavity microwave Fourier transform spectrometer. The analyses of the spectra have produced rotational and centrifugal distortion constants, which in turn have been used to estimate the equilibrium internuclear distances and the harmonic vibration frequencies. Hyperfine structure has been observed for several isomers containing $^{131}X_{e}$ and $^{83}Kr$; it has given a measure of the distortion of the electronic structures by the van der Waals bonding. The electric dipole moments of the complexes have been estimated via the $\eta/2$ excitation pulse condition.
