dc.description.abstractWe have recorded the rotationally resolved, jet-cooled electronic spectrum of $MgC_{5}H_{5}$ (MgCp). The MgCp was produced in a free-jet expansion by simultaneous photo-ablation of a Mg target and photo-dissociation of $C_{5}H_{6}$ in a fixture attached to a pulsed valve assembly. The laser-induced fluorescence spectra of both the origin and $16^{1}_{0}$ band were recorded. The Doppler limited spectra had a linewidth of approximately 100 MHz and a rotational temperature of a few degrees Kelvin. The analysis of these spectra will be discussed.en_US
