CURRENT RESEARCH IN ROTATIONAL SPECTROSCOPY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF VALLADOLID.

During the last few years we have been improving and extending the spectroscopy instrumentation in the microwave laboratory of the University of Valladolid. At present there are two computer controlled Stark modulation spectrometers (8-100 GHz), a source modulation millimeter wave spectrometer (80-250 GHz), a superheterodyne millimeter wave spectrometer (80-200 GHz) and a waveguide pulsed microwave Fourier transform spectrometer is being constructed. We continue work on the puckering vibrations of small ring molecules. Studies on oxetane, thietane, 2-methyloxetane are continuing. We have also recently started to extend work to fused ring systems and that on phthalan is almost finished. We are engaged with other European laboratories in providing data on alternative chlorofluorocarbon molecules and for several molecules this involves the internal rotation of $CH_{3}$ or $CF_{3}$ groups.
