Abstract
In a further attempt to unravel the visible system of nitrogen dioxide, we have recorded laser excitation spectra of supersonically cooled $NO_{2}$ in the 550nm region. This spectral region was chosen for investigation because low resolution absorption spectra clearly show a sudden increase in intensity and in spectral conjestion beginning at about 550nm. We report the results of our search for $^{2}B_{1}$ vibronic bands in this region.
