dc.description.abstractPolarized Raman and reflectance IR studies will be reported for ammonium perchlorate. The results have been treated by factor group analysis. The molecular $\nu_{2} (E)$ mode for $NH_{4}^{+}$, not previously reported for $NH_{4}ClO_{4}$, has been located (although of weak intensity) at $1680 cm^{-1}$; this is a typical value observed for other ammonium salts. Temperature effects on the optical lattice modes observed in the Raman spectra will be discussed and compared with results reported previously in the literature.en_US
