Pressures up to 5 atm in allene were used at a path length of 10m. The absorbance depended on the square of the pressure as expected for collision-induced transitions. The relation of this phenomenon to the predicted absorbance due to rotational transitions in the allene molecule within odd excited degenerate vibrational $states,^{1}$ which should have a linear dependence on the pressure, will be discussed.
