dc.description.abstractThis communication will describe a far-infrared inteferometric Fourier spectrometer system which has been developed to operate in a ``double beam'' mode of scanning interferograms, in an effort to overcome the limitations in photometric accuracy which are inherent in any ``single beam'' spectroscopic instrument. The operational performance of this system and its application to far-infrared absorption spectroscopy and refractometry will be illustrated, and critically assessed with regard to reproducibility and photometric accuracy.en_US
