dc.description.abstractThe infrared spectra of $SbF_{5}$ in both the vapor and low temperature solid phases have been recorded from 4000 to $100cm^{-1}$. The Raman spectrum of the liquid was measured using laser excitation. The spectra are incompatible with the monomeric $D_{3h}$ structure used by previous workers. Assignments were made using a simplified polymeric structure. A normal coordinate analysis was carried out in order to check the plausibility of these assignments.en_US
