MAGNETIC CIRCULAR DICHROISM OF CHARGE-TRANSFER TRANSITIONS IN METAL COMPLEXES

An apparatus is described which allows measurement of magnetic circular dichroism in the range $185-700 m\mu$ at fields up to 45,000 Gauss. Results are presented for some charge-transfer transitions in octahedral and square-planar metal halide complexes. Extraction of molecular parameters by computerized fitting is also discussed.
