dc.description.abstractEmission of the $a^{3}\Sigma^{+}(u)(a_{1}^{1}(u))-X^{1}\Sigma^{+}(g)(XO^{+}(g))$ transitions of $Sb_{2}, BiN, BiP, BiAs, BiSb, and Bi_{2}$ has been observed in the near-infrared spectral region between 3800 and $11000 cm^{-1}$ from chemical reactions in fast flow systems. The spectra consisting of short sequences of red-degraded bands were measured at medium and high resolution with a Fourier-transform spectrometer. Vibrational analyses have yielded the following molecular constants of the $X0^{+}(g)$ and $a^{1}_{1}(u)$ states of the molecules (in $cm^{-1}$); [FIGURE] Other new emission systems of BiN have been assigned to the transitions $b^{5}\Sigma+(b{10}^{+})-X^{1}\Sigma^{+}(XO^{+})$ and $b^{5}\Sigma+(b{10}^{+})-a 3\Sigma^{+}(a_{1} 1)$. The spectra of BiN, BiP, BiAs and $Bi_{2}$ have been measured at high resolution and accurate molecular constants of the states have been deduced.en_US
