dc.description.abstractThe high resolution emission spectrum of the triplet-triplet transition of AlCl near $18,000 cm^{-1}$ has been recorded with a Bruker IFS 120 HR Fourier Transform Spectrometer. This system has been analyzed by Mahieu, $et al^{1}$ as a $^{3}\Delta-3\Pi$ transition, in contrast to previous interpretations as a $^{3}\Sigma^{+} -3\Pi$ transition. The present data offer some improvement in resolution and considerable improvement in data on relative intensities of the transitions. This data permit us to provide a better contrast of the two alternative assignments and to determine an improved set of molecular constants for the upper state.en_US
