LABORATORY MEASUREMENTS OF IR MOLECULAR ION ABSORPTION INTENSITIES
Publisher:
Ohio State UniversityAbstract:
Primarily due to infrared laser spectroscopic techniques a fairly extensive data set including frequency measurements, band origins, and structures now exists for over 60 molecular ions. However, there is only very limited experimental information regarding many important molecular ion properties, such as electric dipole moments, dipole derivatives, and collisional cross sections as compared to that available for neutrals. A brief review and discussion will be offered for various laboratory techniques currently used to determine absolute vibrational band intensities of molecular ions.
