dc.description.abstractVibrational circular dichroism (VCD) studies on carbohydrates were undertaken recently in C-H stretching region. Our investigations on carbohydrates are aimed at two different aspects. One is to identify the vibrational bands that are characteristic to different anomers in aqueous solutions. Second is to use this information to understand VCD in mid infrared region. The results obtained in our investigation using a Fourier transform infrared spectrometer will be presented.en_US
