dc.description.abstractIntensities and self-broadened widths of 48 $N_{2}O$ lines of the $V_{3} - V_{1}$ band centered at $939 cm^{-1}$ have been measured using a tunable diode laser. Intensities and widths for each line were determined by least-squares fitting Voigt profiles to measured room temperature absorbances at four pressures over the range 20-200 torr in a 2.4 meter absorption cell. Broadening coefficients up to $\mid m\mid=33$ were obtained. Intensities were corrected to $300^{\circ} K$ and using relative intensity calculations and average band intensity of $(4.77 \pm 0.04)\times 10^{-2} cm^{-1}atm^{-1}$ was obtained. This is about 20\% less then the band intensity used in the AFGL data compilation.en_US
