dc.description.abstractThe absorption spectrum of nitrogen has been investigated with a 6.65 m vacuum spectrograph. The rotational analyses of the $c 1/5(0) - X(0), C_{4}(0) - X(0), b(22) - X(0), b^{\prime}(18) - X(0)$ and $b(23) - X(0)$ bands were carried out. Strong interaction between c 1/5(0) and $b^{\prime}(18)$ levels was observed while relatively weak interactions were also noticed in all levels near by. Details of the rotational analysis of the c 1/5(0) - X(0) band and the perturbation will be discussed. Supported in part under Grant AFOSR 60-0018 to Harvard College.en_US
