dc.description.abstractAbsorption, fluorescence and resonance Raman spectra will be reported for the diatomic tin molecule isolated in argon matrices. Fluorescence bund systems give the positions of four excited electronic slates, including one which lies roughly $4000 cm^{-1}$ above the ground state. A potential energy diagram for low lying states is proposed from the data. Comparisons are made with the spectra of another Group IV molecule, $Pb_{2}$.en_US
