dc.description.abstractA PbSSe diode laser was used to measure the broadening coefficient of the P(25) line in the 1-0 band of CO broadened by $H_{2}O$. The date were recorded for four values of $H_{2}O$ pressure below 18 torr. The pressure broadened component of the line width was inferred using Voigt profile calculations. The resulting coefficient is $1.13 \times 10^{-4}$ $cm^{-1}$/torr half width at half maximum. This is about 1.75 times the value of the $N_{2}$ broadening coefficient for this CO line.en_US
