ROTATIONAL ANALYSIS OF THE $B^{2}\Sigma^{+} - X^{2}\Pi_{1/2}$ SUBSYSTEM OF SbO
Publisher:
Ohio State UniversityAbstract:
TThe 0-1 and 1-0 bands at 4130 and 4035 {\AA} of the $B^{2}\Sigma^{+} -X^{2}\Pi_{3/2}$ subsystem of the SbO molecules, excited in a discharge tube by a high power microwave generator, were photographed at high resolution. The rotational assignments include rotational levels J = 3.5 to 89.5 in the v=0 state of $X^{2}\Pi_{1/2}$ and N = 5 to 91 and 29 to 82 in the v=0 and 1 states, respectively, of $B^{2}\Sigma^{+}$. From the rotational analysis the values of the rotational constants $B_{1}, D_{1}, B_{0}, D_{0}, H_{0}$ and hence $B_{e}, a_{e}, r_{e}, I_{e}$ of the B state, and $B_{1}, D_{0}, B_{0}, D_{0}, H_{0}$ and hence $r_{0}$ and $I_{0}$ of the $X^{2}\Pi_{1/2}$, state, of the $^{12}SbO$ molecule, have been obtained. The observed isotope shifts of the rotational lines of $^{123}SbO$ from those of $^{121}SbO$ are also reported.
