dc.description.abstractThe harmonics of IMPATT diode oscillators have been found to be an interesting new source for millimeter wave high resolution spectroscopy. This talk will discuss their AM/FM noise characteristics, long term stability, and the characteristics of a spectroscopic system based on this source. A comparison with ""conventional"" klystron driven harmonic generator techniques will be presented.en_US
