Title: HIGH RESOLUTION INFRARED SPECTRUM OF THE $\nu_{3} + \nu_{4}$ BAND OF AMMONIA: APPLICATION TO INTERPRETATION OF JOVIAN SPECTRA Creators: Sarangi, Sunil; Margolis, J. S. Issue Date: 1976 Publisher: Ohio State University Abstract: The 2 $\mu$ band of ammonia has been recorded with a resolution of $0.06~cm^{-1}$. Most of the strong lines belonging to the perpendicular band $\nu_{3} + \nu_{4}$ have been identified. The analysis suggests strong Local Interactions with neighboring bands. The results have been utilized to interpret a $0.5~cm^{-1}$ resolution spectrum of $Jupiter.^{1}$ An effective rotational temperature has been derived for the Jovian atmosphere.
