Issue Date: 1972 Publisher: Ohio State University Abstract: The interaction potentials obtained from nonempirical calculations of $H^{+}$, H, $Li^{+}$, Li, $Be^{+}$, $Be^{++}$, $Mg^{+}$ and $Mg^{+2}$ with various clusters of rare gas atoms will be presented. These interaction potentials are used as the basis for developing a model for the interaction of rare gas matrices with trapped atoms and molecules. The potential implications for matrix isolation spectroscopy will be discussed.
