Title: SUBMILLIMETER WAVE SPECTRA OF WATER, HYDROGEN SULFIDE AND THEIR ISOTOPIC SPECIES Creators: De Lucia, Frank C.; Helminger, Paul; Cook, Robert L.; Gordy, Walter Issue Date: 1971 Publisher: Ohio State University Abstract: Because of the small moments of inertia of water and hydrogen sulfide molecules, many key rotational transitions necessary for a precision microwave analysis lie in the submillimeter region of the spectrum, beyond the reach of most microwave spectrometers. With our capability for measurements to wavelengths of 0.368 mm, we have measured and assigned a number of transitions of $H_{2}O$, HDO, $H_{2}S$, HDS, and $D_{2} S$ in the submillimeter region. These include the 2$_{o2}$ --- 2$_{11}$ transition of $H_{2} O$ at 752 033.44 Me/sec ($\lambda$ = 0.399 mm) and several other transitions above 600 Gc/sec. For most of these species we have now obtained an adequate number of lines for a distortion analysis based entirely on precision microwave data.
