Title: SELF BROADENED HALF WIDTHS AND PRESSURE SHIFTS FOR THE R-BRANCH J-MANIFOLDS OF THE 3$3v_{3}$ METHANE BAND Creators: Margolis, J. S. Issue Date: 1970 Publisher: Ohio State University Abstract: The self pressure broadening coefficients of the twenty-seven individual components of the J-manifolds ($0\leq J\leq 7$) of the methane $3v_{3}$ R-branch have been determined. Pressure shifts between adjacent components have also been determined over a range of pressures from 500 torr to 1500 torr. The splittings between adjacent components in most cases is comparable to the half-widths at the pressures utilized in the measurements, thus necessitating an indirect determination of the half-widths. The half-widths and shifts were determined by fitting a synthetic spectrum with variable parameters to the measured data.
