dc.description.abstract The polarized single crystal spectra of a number of alkylammonium salts of the series $FeCl_{n} Br^{-}_{4-2n}$ where n = 1 to 4, have been determined at liquid nitrogen temperatures. Complete crystal field-spin orbit calculations have been performed to aid in the spectral assignment. Evidence for a dynamic Jahn-Teller distortion in two of the excited states has been observed and will be discussed. en_US
