Issue Date: 1959 Publisher: Ohio State University Abstract: The influence of the various factors which cause the line strengths in vibration-rotation bands of $H_{2}O$ to deviate from those for rigid asymmetric rotors have been calculated for several simple models. The effects considered are 1) differing asymmetrics in the upper and lower states 2) centrifugal stretching and 3) interactions between vibrations.
