ATI has offered programs in livestock since 1973. The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Meat Animals Technology began in 1973. In 1974 the program was renamed Livestock Production. The program name changed in 1975 to Livestock, and again in 1979 to Livestock Production and Management. All of these programs included courses/concentrations in beef, sheep, and swine. In 1994 ATI divided those concentrations into separate programs and offered an AAS in Swine Production and Management, which is still offered, and an AAS in Beef Production and Management. In 1997 the beef program was renamed as Beef and Sheep Production and Management, and it is still offered. The Associate of Science (AS) degree in Livestock Science began in 1998 and is still offered.
