Abstract: T.M. Scanlon is Alford Professor of Natural Religion, Moral Philosophy, and Civil Polity at Harvard University. He has written widely on moral theory and is author of numerous books, including The Difficulty of Tolerance: Essays in Political Philosophy, What We Owe to Each Other, and A Theory of Justice. He has also published numerous book chapters and journal articles that have appeared in such publications as Ethics, Oxford Journal of Legal Studies, and the Journal of Philosophy.
