Abstract: Corrections for magnetic hyperfine splittings are necessary in measurement of rotational relaxation rates and of the speed-dependence of rotational relaxation rates from transient emission measurements. For some systems, transient spectroscopy shows promise for measurement of hyperfine splittings and intensities. Results are presented for $H_{2}O, H_{2}CO, ^{15}N_{2}O$, and $\C_{2}H_{4}O$.
