Abstract: Cysticercus tenuicollis (Taenia hydatigena) is reported for the first time from Ohio. The parasite was found in a high density, enclosed population of white-tailed deer {Odocoileus virginianus). As many as 138 individuals per km2 have been reported for this herd. When deer from western Pennyslvania were examined, this parasite was not found. Infection of deer with C. tenuicollis has been reported in Michigan.
