dc.description.abstract Fourier transfer Infrared spectra of methylene fluoride were recorded with the NBS BOMEM DA3.002 spectrometer with an apodized resolution of $0.004 cm^{-1}$. Detailed assignments up to $j_{\max} = 25$ have been made for the $\nu_{8}$ parallel A type band centered at $1435 cm^{-1}$. Watson's A type reduced Hamiltonian in the representation was used to obtain upper state molecular parameters. These reproduce the observed data to within the limits of the experimental accuracy. The details of the analysis will be presented. en_US
