Title: THE $b ^{4}\Sigma^{-} \rightarrow a ^{4}\Pi_{i}$ TRANSITION OF THE NO MOLECULE
Creators: Huber, K. P.
Issue Date: 1984
Publisher: Ohio State University
Abstract: Two sequences of the quartet system of $NO^{1}$ at 7900 {\AA} $(\Delta \nu = 4)$ and at 8700 {\AA} $(\Delta \nu = 3)$ have been rephotographed at high resolution. The spectra were obtained from a dc discharge in a supersonically expanding $jet^{2}$ of He + NO. The low rotational temperature achieved in the jet ($\sim 50 ^{\circ}K)$ results in a striking simplification of the previously very congested band structures, making it possible to proceed with a detailed rotational analysis.
