Abstract: $Recently^{1}$, we reported energy transfer measurements of $CO(v = 1)$ to $He, Ar, H_{2}, D_{2}, N_{2}, O_{2}$, and $CH_{4}$. The output from a $CO_{2}$ TEA laser operating on the P(24) line of the 9.6 $\mu$m transition was passed through a tellurium crystal to provide approximately 0.1\% doubled output at $2086.326 cm^{-1}$. This frequency is within $10^{-5}$ $\mu$m of the P(14) transition of the CO fundamental vibration-rotation band; therefore a convenient source for CO energy transfer measurements was provided. We have extended this study to include measurement of the vibration-to-vibration $(V^{\prime} \rightleftharpoons V)$ rates of transfer from CO to NO, $D_{2}, CO_{2}, COS, CS_{2}$, and $SO_{2}$, i.e. $$ CO(v=1)+AB(v=0)\mathop{\rightleftharpoons}_{k_{e}^{\prime}}^{k_{e}}CO(v=0)+AB(v=1)+\Delta E $$ In addition to the $V \rightarrow V$ rates measured, it has been possible to measure the vibrational relaxation rates for COS(001), $CS_{2}(001)$ and $D_{2}(v = 1)$.
