Abstract: Equivalent width measurements have been made on a number of individual rotational lines in the B-X system of $I_{2}$. The resulting line intensities, together with computed RKR Franck-Condon factors, have been used to obtain the total Einstein transition probability $\Sigma_{v^{\ast}} A_{v^{\prime}v^{\prime\prime}}=1/\tau v^{1}$. These results will be compared with existing measurements of the direct decay by the phase-shift and pulsed excitation method.
